EXPERIENCE

2D ILLUSTRATOR, Freelance

2015 - 2017 // 2020 - Present

•    Create character designs for individual clients, book illustrations, animated shorts, and video game assets

•    Work with authors to develop fully rendered characters and background environments for children’s books

•    Produce illustrations for single commissions as well as larger studio projects

•    Storyboarded and animated character driven sequences for client

•    Clearly communicate project details with clients through every step of the job

STORY / CHARACTER ARTIST, Taco Pizza Cat Games

2020 - 2023

•    Create art assets ranging from story sequences, characters, UI elements, backgrounds, and props that are in keeping with the projects visual style

•    Involved in creative process of initial concept to finalized asset

•    Collaborate with game lead to maintain project quality while managing time constraints

•    Keep organized catalogue of created art assets that can be easily referenced

•    Familiar with product development including workflow, tools, character turnarounds, marketing materials,            and graphic design

DESIGN INTERN, Media General FX

2014

•    Create monitor graphics for local news stations along the east coast

•    Capture map imagery and animations in the map building software VizTrio

•    Design and animate a pre-production package which included an opening, stinger, looping background, lower third title, and monitor graphics

2023

•   Learned and practiced all aspects of storyboarding for animation which include beat boards, thumbnailing from a script, balancing a composition, scenes with multiple characters, camera movement, and utilizing Storyboard Pro

•    Received direct critique and advice from professional industry level story artist

BFA ANIMATION, Virginia Commonwealth University

2011 - 2015

•    Studied all aspects of animation fundamentals including timing, posing, weight, and performance

•    Pursued different animation mediums such as traditional frame-by-frame, 3D character, and stop motion

•    Highly proficient in boarding and animating through Storyboard Pro
•    Expert knowledge in illustrating in both Photoshop and Clip Studio
•    In-depth understanding of how to utilize Blender to speed up scene layout
•    Experienced in all aspects of pre-production process for 2D animation
•    Proficient in various 3D software such as Maya, Mudbox, and Blender
